World Rugby Case Study

World Rugby

Contract and Permanent Hires

World Rugby is an international federation and a global movement comprising more than 500 million fans and 10 million players within 128 national member federations affiliated through six regional associations.

Located in Dublin, Ireland, World Rugby’s purpose is to grow rugby by making it more relevant and accessible, with a vision of a global sport for all, true to its values.

Challenge:

World Rugby were undergoing a rapid growth phase with multiple job roles to fill. Some of these roles were in particularly niche areas or included maternity cover or high urgency contracts that they were struggling to fill themselves. World Rugby chose to approach MA with help sourcing suitable candidates for these roles because of our extensive talent pool, “Can-Do” attitude and our heavy focus on culture and finding the right fit. Our community network, MA Sports, & Non-Executive Director Rob Kearney helped source suitable candidates for some of the more niche roles.

Some roles we have sourced for World Rugby include:

  • Project Manager
  • Admin (mostly administrative roles)
  • Office Support
  • Astro Turf Expert
  • High Performance Coordinator
  • Programme Manager

Mason Alexander have placed both contract and permanent roles with World Rugby.

Solution:

World Rugby have many departments within their business. MA meets with each individual candidate to ensure their personality aligns with each departments’ team values. Our long ongoing relationship with World Rugby has also ensured we are familiar with these values and their culture. World Rugby place a strong emphasis on diversity in the workplace, which is also a core value of Mason Alexander meaning we incorporate diversity and inclusivity in our search for each individual hire.

In line with this, a good working experience is a prevalent value within World Rugby. MA employees ensure all candidates have a good, supportive experience throughout the interview process. MA would also support World Rugby through any Visa processes, and partner with them via our joint marketing services to promote their brand, job roles and workplace.

Result:

10 placements to date with 4 placements since the beginning of 2020 with numbers increasing due to their increased demand. They’re delighted and we have an ongoing relationship with them.

Result:

Munich Re were delighted with our finalised candidates, and so satisfied with our procurement process that we have been their recruitment agency of choice to place a further 12+ people on a non-exclusive agreement.

Mason Alexander was very professional and helpful from start to finish in the recruitment of several open roles we required help with. We were constantly updated throughout the process and they were quick to gather suitable candidates which ultimately resulted in us finding the right person for the roles. Working with Mason Alexander was stress-free and allowed us to get to our BAU work as we knew he was working hard to secure the correct fit for our company.
