A unique opportunity for a Vice President of Research and Development to join an innovative, high-growth medical device company developing transformative technologies that have the potential to significantly improve patient outcomes.

As VP of R&D, you will have overall responsibility for product design and development, leading multidisciplinary engineering teams through the full product lifecycle while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and effectiveness.

This is a highly strategic leadership position, offering the opportunity to influence company vision, culture, technology roadmap, and long-term business success.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to define and execute strategic business objectives
  • Lead and develop high-performing R&D teams across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Drive the design, development, and delivery of innovative medical device systems
  • Build organisational capability and ensure appropriate resources are in place to achieve business goals
  • Collaborate closely with Quality, Clinical, Manufacturing, and Regulatory functions to support product evaluation and clinical studies
  • Own R&D planning, budgeting, and resource allocation in line with company objectives
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure adherence to quality systems and support the achievement of company-wide quality objectives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar field
  • Postgraduate Qualifications specialising in a related technical field
  • 10 years’ experience in Senior Management role with a background in medical device product development
  • 10 years’ experience in the development of intellectual property
