Our client is seeking an IT Manufacturing Solutions Architect to support and enhance their global manufacturing operations. You’ll help design, implement, and optimise MES solutions , including the rollout of Critical Manufacturing MES built on a Kubernetes -based, cloud-native architecture.

Reporting into IT Manufacturing, RDE & Quality (with a dotted line to the Digital Manufacturing COE), this role is central to the organisation’s digital transformation.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and architecture of MES solutions aligned with manufacturing processes.
  • Assist with Kubernetes integration, microservices deployment, and cloud-native optimisation.
  • Support MES platform implementation, upgrades, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination.
  • Deliver integrations across systems such as ERP, CMMS, QMS, LMS, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Support testing, validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), patching, disaster recovery and ongoing system maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, IT and DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and quality standards (FDA, QMS, GMP, etc.).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in MES design, architecture, or implementation.
  • Experience with MES platforms (Critical Manufacturing, Siemens OpsCenter, Rockwell, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and system integrations.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), microservices, and DevOps practices.
  • SQL/Oracle experience, scripting knowledge, and understanding of SDLC.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD).
  • Experience with lean/continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing standards (GxP, GMP, ISA-95).
  • Experience with OpenShift or other orchestration tools.
  • Ability to travel periodically.
