A unique opportunity for a Senior R&D Engineer to take ownership of complex product development projects and help bring innovative medical technologies from concept to commercialisation.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will drive product development activities across the full design lifecycle, working closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory and Clinical Affairs.
You will have the opportunity to lead projects, mentor engineers, and influence the development of innovative products within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of medical devices from concept through to design freeze and manufacturing transfer
- Manage technical projects to ensure milestones, budgets, timelines and deliverables are achieved
- Develop product specifications, materials, tooling, equipment and manufacturing processes
- Generate and oversee design verification activities, testing protocols and technical reports
- Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory and design control requirements
- Drive effective transfer of products into manufacturing, including training and process validation support
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technical team members
- Collaborate across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality and Regulatory teams to solve technical challenges and support product development activities
- Continuously improve development processes to enhance efficiency, compliance and innovation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline
- 6+ years' experience within the medical device industry
- Proven experience in medical device product development and associated manufacturing processes
- Strong understanding of design controls, product development methodologies and regulated environments
- Demonstrated project management and technical leadership capabilities
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience working in cross-functional teams within a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
