An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Process Development Manager to join a rapidly growing and highly innovative medical device organisation. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to build and develop high-performing engineering teams while driving strategic process development initiatives that support the manufacture of life-changing technologies.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will provide both technical and people leadership across the Process Development function. You will be responsible for delivering robust manufacturing processes, improving yields, supporting new product introductions, and developing the capability of a talented engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Process Development team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Define and execute the strategic direction for Process Development in line with business objectives.
  • Drive complex process development projects from concept through implementation and manufacturing transfer.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve process capability, manufacturing efficiency, scalability and product yield.
  • Lead technical problem-solving activities, root cause investigations and process optimisation initiatives using data-driven methodologies.
  • Manage multiple cross-functional projects, ensuring delivery against timelines, quality standards and business objectives.
  • Develop project plans, budgets, resource requirements and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver technical and operational improvements.
  • Champion continuous improvement methodologies and best engineering practices.
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems, regulatory requirements and health & safety standards.
  • Support process validation, manufacturing readiness and design transfer activities.
  • Manage departmental budgets and support strategic resource planning.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline (Manufacturing, Biomedical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or similar).
  • 8-10+ years' experience within a regulated manufacturing or medical device environment.
  • 3-5+ years' experience leading engineering, manufacturing or process development teams.
  • Proven success delivering complex process improvement, yield improvement and operational excellence projects.
  • Strong people management experience with a track record of coaching and developing engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, technical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
