The company is pre-sales, with current activities focussed on product development, pivotal trial rollout and business development roadmap (acquisition / IPO).
Primary Objective of the role:
- The protection of our Intellectual Property and the ability to demonstrate same
- Provide legal support for the successful rollout and oversight of company’s clinical trial programme
- Ensure we are due diligence ready for investors / acquirors and support the business in preparing for and executing the next round of fundraising
- Liaise with external counsel to provide guidance at an expert level in a timely and responsive fashion
- Oversee the management of company’s IP portfolio and budget, collaborating with external patent counsel and consultants) and internal subject matter experts to manage filings and internal responses.
- Provide a high degree of skill in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and finalising all forms of agreement including NDAs, supplier / service agreements, consultancy agreements and employment contracts. This is a critical area of responsibility.
- Ensure contracts align with the company’s IP objectives and safeguard its IP rights.
- Co-ordinate legal aspects of the company’s share award programme in collaboration with Finance team.
- Collaborate with Finance team on CoSec activities including Annual Return, AGMs, EGMs etc.
- Support HR function to review and update HR policies as required.
- Responsible for management, mentoring and onboarding of any additional legal staff that may be engaged as the business grows.
- Responsibility for data protection, cyber security and AI issues.
- Any additional legal matters that may arise
- Solicitor with 4 years + PQE, experience working in a corporate/ commercial department of a leading Irish or UK firm or relevant in-house experience in a technology or life science company.
- Knowledge of privacy and data protection.
- Experience / understanding of the patenting process.
