Are you an Engineering Manager that is interested in joining a really exciting healthcare company who are looking at how AI can be utilised to deliver healthcare specific to weight loss. This client has a solid foothold in the US and UK markets currently and are building the infrastructure to support treatment safely and at a scale that doesn’t exist.
This is a hybrid role of 4 days a week on site based in London.
Responsibilities:
- Set the technical direction for patient-facing products and own the outcomes.
- Lead, grow, and hire a team of 5-8 senior and staff-level engineers. People who don't need hand-holding but do need a leader with strong technical judgment. You'll report to the VP of Engineering.
- Decide where LLMs belong in a patient journey — and where they don't.
- Champion AI-assisted development across the team — evaluate tools, shape workflows, and help engineers work faster and smarter with AI.
- Get into the code yourself when that's the highest-leverage thing you can do.
- Work with product, design, and clinical teams to turn ambiguous problems into working software.
- Ship products that reach real patients, at scale.
- 5+ years building software, with experience leading or growing engineering teams.
- The kind of technical depth where you're credible with staff-level engineers -- they trust your judgment because it's good, not because of your title.
- Production experience with LLMs. Not just interest -- you've shipped something real with them.
- You're excited about AI-assisted development and have opinions on how engineering teams should be using these tools today.
- This isn't a role where you attend meetings and approve PRs. You're hands-on when it counts.
- Our stack is TypeScript end-to-end: Expo, Next.js, Express, Apollo Server, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, AWS. Know it or be confident you'll pick it up fast.
- You're comfortable shipping fast in environments where getting it wrong has consequences.
