I am seeking a IT Support Technician to join a global Fintech based in the heart of Dublin city. In this role you will act as a first point of contact for all IT support related office matters. Responsibilities:

 

  • Deal with employee IT queries for 1st line support, using your judgement and experience to diagnose and troubleshoot issues
  • Identify and escalate complicated or specialized situations requiring urgent attention, and coordinate resolution with 2ndand 3rd level support teams when required
  • Accurately record and document all details of the issue or service request, including categorization and priority into the IT service desk tool.
  • Responsible for the local IT infrastructure (power, air-conditioning and cabling)
  • Maintain and support Windows OS environment (both local and virtual) and corporate networking
  • Manage local IT hardware purchases

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Recent technical qualification or at least two years of experience in similar role
  • Basic customer support skills
  • Ability to work on problems of limited complexity
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures of systems administration and support to resolve routine issues
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem solving / trouble shooting skills
  • Provisioning of office hardware and software: imaging, troubleshooting, and software installation expertise for Dell and Apple laptops, Dell Thin Clients, as well as standard office peripherals
  • Hands on experience in installing IT hardware and network infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting a variety of client, mobile and cloud office software (Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Basic administration of Windows Operating System
  • Access management and provisioning for new hires / terminations
  • Support and troubleshooting of corporate networking (remote user environment with VDI and VPN)
  • Hardware procurement and management of inventory of IT assets
  • All applicants must have either a European passport or a Stamp 4 visa in order to apply fopr this opportunity.

 

Desirable Experience:

 

  • Advanced administration of Microsoft (AD, DNS, Group Policy, MDT)and MAC Operating Systems
  • Hands-on work with LAN/WAN networking technologies (routing, switching and firewall)
  • Troubleshooting PBX/VOIP systems
  • Deploying and maintaining data centre-hosted system
