This is the opportunity to join a world leading player in their sector to work on the Design System team which builds tools and resources to allow their digital products create consistent, accessible and memorable experiences for their users. They are looking for an experience Senior Frontend Developer to join their team. This team are been tasked with building out the next generation of Enterprise Design System.

 

The dedicated engineering team makes our design guidelines and best practices a coded reality, while working with our product partners to promote and grow adoption across our enterprise.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with designers, researchers and accessibility specialists to engineer coded libraries of reusable components and patterns for our system
  • Ensure our elements, components and patterns meet accessibility guidelines and requirements
  • Promote the benefits and encourage adoption of our system across the enterprise
  • Contribute to designing and building the next generation of UI System tooling and resources to support our product teams
  • Document our system to help our partners to consume our components and tools with confidence
Required Qualifications
  • Excellent HTML5 and CSS knowledge, including experience with pre-processors such as SASS or LESS
  • Excellent JavaScript (ES6+) knowledge, including experience with TypeScript
  • Experience with building applications and components using modern libraries and frameworks like Angular and React
  • Experience with front-end development build tooling, such as NodeJS and Webpack

 

Desired qualification

  • Understanding of different web browsers and how to solve cross-browser issues
  • Proficient understanding of the WAI and WCAG 2.0/2.1
  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of responsive web design and development practices
  • Experience and understanding of unit testing, integration testing, automation testing and visual testing in JavaScript and web applications
  • Experience working in agile teams and delivery cycles
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps principles and tools such as Jenkins, Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of prototyping and design tools such as Sketch and Axure
  • Experience contributing to and maintaining open source projects
