Operations - Regional Lead

Our client, a global Investment Manager is seeking to recruit  a regional lead based in Dublin to head up Private or Sponsored Transaction Operations team. This is a senior role and the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership qualities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coming under the newly created Operations team umbrella of Private or Sponsored Transactions
  • Specifically will not encompass traditional bank debt trading that settles using LMA/LSTA
  • Preferably some experience, but not necessarily limited to, Structured Products and/or Real Estate
  • Knowledge of settling wholly owned loans into a custody or vault accounts
  • Tracking of individual loans for audit and valuation purposes
  • Experience with loan securitization process, the pipes, and nuances of closing a securitization
  • Would be good if some focus generally on structured products such as MBS, RMBS, CMBS and ABS
  • Will need to understand nuances between the difference in documentation and functionality, examples as follows:
    • UK RBMS has strict regulatory and legal terms vs CMBS which act more like term loans
    • Documentation in Loanpal doesn’t exist in Europe as we have mortgage titles
  • Understanding commercial structures and waterfall process
  • Interaction with banks, understand importance of original documentation versus copies (legal docs)
  • Settlement and loan administrative responsibilities including rollovers, reconciliations, rate setting allocation of funds & interest accrual tracking.
  • Provide post trade operational support for various types of private trades, including private equity and illiquid assets.
  • Communicating with agent banks, counterparts and internal traders, analysts, private documentation, accounting & middle office.
  • Reconciling system and cash discrepancies.
  • Investigation of issues that may arise from loan settlements and payments.
  • Booking of corporate actions and reorganizations.
  • Tracking collateral balances.
  • Prepare wires for funding and account sweeps.
  • Administer intercompany loans.
  • Provide 3rd party admin with requested information.
  • Document Review.
  • New bank account openings



Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Hedge Funds, Investment Banks, Loan Servicers or Third Party Administrators
  • Finance degree preferred
  • University Upper Second Class (2-1) degree or higher
  • Geneva experience a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Managerial attributes (experience would be good, it is not a prerequisite)
  • Detail oriented - attention to details and to customer/client needs
  • Collaborative; team player, proactive, self-starter, who can implement process changes
  • Fast learner, motivated, innovative, enthusiastic and rigorous
  • Able to follow directions and apply knowledge learned.
  • Strong communication skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
