The Role

Mason Alexander is looking to hire a solicitor or barrister, to join our team as in-house Legal Counsel. We are ideally looking to hire someone on a part-time basis so this may suit someone looking for better work / life balance. This is a broad role and will cover areas of employment, data protection, commercial contracts and any other general ad hoc legal duties required.

We are looking for someone enthusiastic and driven to join and aid us as we grow and look to expand across the EU and US. If you are commercially focused with excellent communication and drafting skills this could be the position for you. Reporting to  our CEO and working with an experienced and supportive team; you must be confident in your ability to work with, support and advise internal stakeholders from across the business, including senior management.

Key Accountabilities

  • Employee Relations serving as a trusted advisor to HR and key business stakeholders in all areas of employment law
  • Partner with HR on internal investigations into employee relations matters
  • Providing guidance on international regulations as we expand into EU / USA
  • Develop and maintain relevant internal data privacy policies and training
  • Assist in advising on privacy and data security matters impacting the business
  • Drafting, issuing, negotiating contracts, terms and conditions and policies
  • Provide comprehensive, accurate and practical advice regarding various legal issues including corporate/commercial, regulatory, privacy, and IP matters
  • Support the Directors in a variety of Corporate/ Company Secretarial matters including assistance with Board meetings and documentation.

Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 3+PQE
  • In-house legal experience desired but not essential
  • Experience in the areas of employment law, data protection, commercial contracts, general commercial law
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
