Role Description - Summary
Our client is setting up a team who will work with Legal and the wider COO division to ensure the Bank’s IT systems (existing and planned) are compliant with the new EU General Data Protection Regulation that will apply from May 2018.
The team will be located in Dublin and will work with stakeholders in global locations, and across the divisions of the Bank (in particular: Legal, Compliance and the wider COO.
This role is to lead the technical work carried out by the Data Protection Team.
Responsibilities/Tasks:
- Work with Data Protection Team head to ensure all obligations around Data Privacy are met.
- Work with Data Protection Team head to ensure technical work is aligned to required technical standards
- Supervision of the technical work carried out by junior SME resource
- Technically coach and develop junior SME resource
- Plan and supervise technical delivery associated with Data Privacy work locally and in the GDPR Programme
- Build relationships with other lead SMEs in particular for Data Privacy in Legal, and Data Protection in the wider COO
- Work with cross divisional SMEs on the translation of regulatory requirements on Data Privacy to system controls and other non-functional IT requirements.
- Build relationships with other Data Analytics COE Lead SMEs
Skills and Qualifications:
- Anticipated to have 3 to 5 years of experience in the Data Protection area in Banking
- Experience of managing the delivery of technical work by more junior staff
- Expert knowledge of the regulatory environment for Data Privacy
- Expert understanding of the relationships between the Data Privacy regulation, Data Protection regulation, and secrecy laws in Banking
- Experience designing and building control environments that satisfy regulatory requirements
- Experience building technical relationships outside of immediate team.

- Graduate or Masters Degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent diploma / work experience)
